The rain has caused us many headaches this season. There have been days where we cannot get into the fields without sinking up to our boot tops. We are happy that we use raised rows. The water is in the trenches between them.
Many things are delayed, primarily tomatoes. I can’t wait until they ripen. So far only cherry tomatoes are ready. We have better success with cucumber this year. After the raccoons pulled them out and we had to replant, but there are English cucumbers almost ready. Lettuce and beets have been great this year. Snow peas are still hanging in there. Basil will be ready soon. Hopefully, all the rain means that the veggies will be large and luscious!
